A fact is a detail Advisor knows about a client, such as their employer or date of birth. Facts are filled in two ways:
  • From a document field, once an advisor approves the value. See Documents.
  • From the client’s answer to a checklist question. See Checklists.
Accepted facts show under Details on the client’s Overview tab. Hover over a fact to see the document it came from. Go to Settings > Facts to see them all.
Everyone in the firm can look at facts. Only admins can make changes.

The list

Use Search facts and fields to find a fact by name or by the field that fills it.

Built-in facts

Built-in facts are made by Redbark and can’t be changed:

How values are kept

  • When a fact holds One, a newer approved value replaces the old one.
  • When a fact holds Several, each value is kept, such as one for each super fund.
  • A value the client already has is not proposed again.
  • An advisor can change a value while approving it.
  • A checklist question linked to a fact offers the client’s accepted value as the answer. The client can change it.

Making a fact

1

Start a new fact

Select New fact.
2

Name it

Enter a Name, such as “Salary sacrifice”.
3

Choose what it holds

Under Holds, pick Text, Date or Amount. This is fixed once the fact is made.
4

Choose one or several

Choose one per client, where a newer approved value replaces the old one, or several per client.
5

Fill it from a field

Link the fact to a document field. See Adding a field.
You can also make a fact while adding a field to a document type. Under Fills client fact, choose New firm fact. A field only fills a fact of the same type. A date field fills a date fact, for example.

Renaming and archiving

Open a firm fact’s menu to:
  • Rename it. The new name shows everywhere the fact does. Values clients already have stay.
  • Archive it. No new document fills it. Values clients already have stay.
  • Restore an archived fact.

Never kept
