Connect your US bank accounts to Redbark through Plaid and automatically sync American bank transactions to Google Sheets, YNAB, Actual Budget, Airtable, Notion and more.
Redbark can now connect United States bank accounts. If you bank in the US, you can bring your balances and transactions into the same spreadsheets and budgeting apps that already work with our Australian and New Zealand connections. The developer API and MCP server support them too.
US bank connections are available today through Plaid.
US bank connections powered by Plaid
Plaid provides the secure connection between Redbark and your bank. When you add a US bank, Plaid opens the connection flow and asks you to choose your institution. You authorise access through your bank or Plaid's secure interface. Redbark never receives your banking password.
The connection is read-only. Redbark can retrieve the account details, balances, posted transactions and merchant information needed for your syncs. It cannot move money or make changes to your bank account.
Plaid's institution catalogue is large and changes as banks update their integrations. Coverage includes major American banks such as Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, Capital One, U.S. Bank, PNC, Truist and TD Bank. You can search for your own bank when you start the connection.
Sync American bank transactions to the tools you use
A US bank account works with Redbark's existing destinations. You can send your data to:
- Google Sheets for an automatically updated transaction spreadsheet
- YNAB for transactions that arrive ready to categorise
- Actual Budget, Sure, Firefly III or another compatible app through Redbark's SimpleFIN server
- Airtable or Notion for custom databases and finance dashboards
- The Redbark API for your banking data in JSON
- Webhooks for event-driven workflows in your own application
- MCP clients including Claude and ChatGPT for read-only access through the Redbark MCP server
The sync process is the same across regions. Choose the US accounts you want to use, pick a destination and set the date you want the first transaction sync to start from. Plaid tells Redbark when new bank data is available, and Redbark sends the latest posted transactions to your destination.
You can also combine accounts from different countries in one Redbark account. Someone with a Chase checking account and an Australian CommBank account can sync both into the same Google Sheet or YNAB budget.
Your financial data stays out of our database
US connections use the same pass-through architecture as the rest of Redbark. Transaction data moves from Plaid through Redbark to the destination you selected. We do not build a permanent transaction history in our primary database or write financial payloads to our logs.
Redbark stores the connection settings and limited account metadata required to operate the service. The Plaid access token is encrypted. A short-lived, encrypted performance cache reduces repeated provider requests. Transaction responses expire within 60 minutes. Account details expire within 15 minutes, while balance responses expire within 48 hours. Deleting the connection purges its cached data and revokes access with Plaid.

US bank connections do not use Australia's Consumer Data Right. The CDR applies to Australian Open Banking connections made through Fiskil. American accounts connect through Plaid under Plaid's authorisation flow and Redbark's privacy and security controls.
How to connect a US bank account
Sign in to Redbark, open Connections, click Add Connection, then choose US Banks. Search for your bank in Plaid, complete its authorisation steps and select the accounts you want to connect.
Your US accounts will appear in Redbark when the connection is complete. You can then create a sync for Google Sheets, YNAB, Airtable, Notion or another supported destination.
