How do I connect my bank account?

Click "Connect" and select your bank. Australian accounts connect through CDR Open Banking, New Zealand accounts through Akahu, and United States accounts through Plaid. Authentication happens in your bank or provider’s secure flow, so your login credentials are never shared with Redbark.

How long does setup take?

Most users are up and running in under 5 minutes. Connect your bank, choose a destination like Google Sheets or You Need a Budget, and your first sync runs automatically.

Which banks are supported?

We support Australian banks through CDR Open Banking, New Zealand banks through Akahu, and United States banks through Plaid. Coverage includes major institutions such as CommBank, ANZ NZ, Bank of America, Chase, and many more.

Do you store my bank data?

Accepted Answer

No. Redbark uses a pass-through architecture. Transactions are proxied live from the bank to the destination you chose. We store consent records, encrypted tokens, and account metadata. We never store transaction amounts, descriptions, merchants, or balances.

How is my data protected?

Accepted Answer

All tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM with unique random IVs. Our infrastructure providers hold SOC 2 Type II certifications: Cloudflare, PlanetScale, Clerk, Stripe, Datadog. Error reports and logs are scrubbed for CDR and PII fields before they leave our runtime. The application itself was penetration tested in July 2026 by Project Black, a CREST-accredited Australian security firm, with zero critical and zero high-risk findings.

Are you registered under the Consumer Data Right?

For Australian bank connections, yes. Redbark (SKINT AI Pty Ltd) is a CDR Representative of Fiskil Pty Ltd (ADR accreditation ADRBNK000246). Our appointment is on the ACCC public register at cdr.gov.au/find-a-provider under Fiskil’s entry. New Zealand connections use Akahu and United States connections use Plaid instead.

Can I withdraw my consent?

Yes, at any time. For Australian CDR connections, use Fiskil’s consent dashboard at consents.fiskil.app. For New Zealand and United States connections, delete the connection in Redbark or revoke it through your bank or provider. Access stops and dependent syncs are disabled.

How often do transactions sync?

Accepted Answer

Syncs are triggered automatically when your bank or connection provider makes new data available, usually within hours of a transaction posting. You can also trigger a manual sync at any time.

Will I get duplicate transactions?

Accepted Answer

No. Every sync uses intelligent ID-based deduplication with overlap buffers to catch late-posting transactions. Even if a sync runs twice, you'll never see duplicate rows.

Can I sync the same account to multiple destinations?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can sync a single bank account to Google Sheets, You Need a Budget, and Actual Budget simultaneously — each with its own formatting and configuration.
