Zerosum supports SimpleFIN as a bring-your-own bank sync provider. Redbark serves supported Australian, New Zealand, and United States bank accounts through SimpleFIN, so Zerosum can import your balances and transactions without your bank credentials.
Bring-your-own bank sync requires a Zerosum Plus or Pro plan, including the Pro trial. You can connect during your Redbark trial, then choose an eligible plan in Billing. Developer and Professional also include SimpleFIN.

Setup

Connect your banks to Redbark

New to Redbark? Choose Zerosum during onboarding. Otherwise, add the bank connections you want to use in Redbark. Zerosum can access banking accounts, but not brokerage accounts.

Generate a SimpleFIN setup token

In Redbark, open Settings > SimpleFIN. Generate a SimpleFIN setup token and name it after Zerosum.Copy the token when it appears. It is shown once, can be claimed once, and expires in 7 days if unused.

Connect SimpleFIN in Zerosum

In Zerosum, open Bank Sync, choose Connect SimpleFIN, and paste the Redbark setup token. Zerosum claims the token and stores the resulting read-only credential encrypted at rest.

Link your accounts

Link each imported bank account to a new or existing Zerosum account. Connecting the provider does not add every account to your budget automatically.

How it behaves

  • The private Redbark Zerosum plan is AUD $12/month, billed monthly, with unlimited bank connections and bank accounts. Brokerage accounts are not included.
  • This plan includes SimpleFIN only. Redbark sync destinations, general API access, MCP, document extraction and the Redbark iPhone app are not included.
  • Once Redbark detects your Zerosum connection during trial, an in-app announcement and email let you know the plan is available. Choose View Zerosum plan to review it in Billing.
  • Zerosum requests current balances and transactions from Redbark on its own sync schedule.
  • Imported transactions use Zerosum’s normal review, matching, and duplicate-prevention flow. Approved or reconciled transactions are not silently overwritten.
  • Adding another bank in Redbark does not add it to your budget automatically. Use Refresh accounts in Zerosum, then link the account you want.
  • Connecting Zerosum during your Redbark trial unlocks a dedicated SimpleFIN-only plan in Billing. Connecting does not start a paid subscription; you choose the plan explicitly.
  • Inactivity or disconnecting Zerosum does not cancel your Redbark subscription or change its price. Cancel through Billing if you no longer need it.

Disconnect

Disconnecting SimpleFIN in Zerosum deletes Zerosum’s stored credential and returns linked accounts to manual mode. Accounts and existing transactions stay in your Zerosum budget. To revoke the credential directly, open Settings > SimpleFIN in Redbark and revoke the Zerosum token. This cuts off access without affecting your bank connection or other connected apps.
